Mold Ejector Pins is a commonly used plastic mold part that separates the product from the mold and which made of hard alloy that can be used to transfer long, thin holes. High hardness, good toughness and hard fracture are required.
For different applications, thimble usually has the following three kinds:
1. Straight ejector pins,
2. Steped ejector pins,
3. Mold ejector blades.

High speed steel SKH51, SKD61, SKD11 and 65Mn were usually used to make the ejector pins. The toughness of SKH51 is better than SKD61, but SKD61 can withstand high temperature 1600℃, and if it was after surface nitriding treatment, the wear resistance can be improved very well. Because of its poor quality and brittleness, the application of 65Mn is becoming less and less in ejector pins industry recently.
